Old fence comes down. Same truck takes it away.
Most fence companies leave you to deal with the old fence. We're a hauler too — so we do both, in one visit, on one bill. From $8 per linear foot.
By linear foot.
Chain link removal
$8–$12 / linear foot
Cuts down fast. Goes to metal recycler so we pass back the lower disposal cost.
Wood removal
$10–$14 / linear foot
Most common. Includes panel breakdown, post pull, dumping. Standard.
Vinyl / aluminum removal
$12–$16 / linear foot
Slightly more involved (PVC has to be cut, not pulled). Same-day done.
Bundling with a new install? The removal price drops to the lower end of the range. Try the bundled quote →
Everything from the first cut to the last shovel of dirt.
- ✓Panel breakdown. We don't try to "save" old fence panels — we cut them down, pull the nails, and load them flat for recycling.
- ✓Concrete post-base removal. Posts and concrete collars come out. We don't leave the next contractor to deal with old footings.
- ✓Hole backfill. Each post hole gets filled with the dirt we removed (or fresh dirt if needed) so your yard is level.
- ✓Same-day haul. Truck leaves your driveway with all of it. No piles left behind for "next week's pickup."
- ✓Recycling first. Metal goes to scrap. Wood goes to mulch. Concrete to recycling. Landfill is last.
Common questions
You can — but a hauler can't usually take fence down (no tools, no liability for setting depth or hitting buried wires). And once you've cut it down yourself, you've also voided the recycling discount we get on intact panels going to metal/wood recyclers. Doing it together saves you money and a Saturday.
Cheapest path. Add it as an option in the fence install quote tool — the removal price drops to the lower end of the range when bundled. Same crew, same day, one truck.
Generally no for residential. Some HOAs require notification. Commercial removals can need a permit depending on scope. We'll let you know during the walkthrough.
If it's a shared boundary fence, we'll communicate with the neighbor (with your permission) and document conditions on both sides before we cut. Avoids the "you broke my flowers" awkwardness.
